CONTROSOIL™ is a multi-purpose soil that is volcanic in origin. It lightly acidifies and softens aquarium water to create an environment conducive to fishes, invertebrates (including shrimp), and plants that must be maintained in these conditions (e.g. aquatic organisms originating in tropical rainforest habitats).  

The shape and size of the substrate CONTROSOIL™ encourages the strong root development of aquatic plants; additionally, the substrate Controsoil is quickly colonized by beneficial microorganisms that improve overall water quality.  CONTROSOIL™ will not disintegrate or cloud aquarium water; it helps to clarify water and also removes impurities.   CONTROSOIL™ may be used as a bottom substrate in all freshwater aquaria, not just those housing plants. 
 
CONTROSOIL™ is made in Japan. Most Japanese breeders as well as photographers who take healthy aquarium fish photos prefer CONTROSOIL™. 

"Controsoil™" controls COD at low levels and it prevents from algae growth. COD is an eutrophication (algae bloom) index of lakes or ponds. 
 
"Soil A" as shown in the 2nd diagram. If the soil itself eutrophicates the water, it harms water quality, accelerate the growth of algae and creates an unsuitable habitat for fish.

"Controsoil" is able to maintain COD at low levels and provides the best water condition.

The soil bed had to be prepared properly so that you can plant your live plants as you wish and design your tank with drift wood or rocks.

PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING RULE OF THUMB:

1. (Aquarium Length (inch) x Width (inch) x Desired Substrate Depth (inch) ) / 60 = X (Approximate Liters of Controsoil required.)
2. X / 10 = Approximate QTY of 10L (20LBS) Controsoil bags required.

For 1 Feet tank ==> 1 Bag (approx.)
For 2 Feet tank ==> 1-2 Bag (approx.)
For 3 Feet tank ==> 2-3 Bag (approx.)
For 4 Feet tank ==> 3-4 Bag (approx.)

 JBL Florapol | 350g | Planted Aquarium Substrate

JBL Florapol is a ground fertilizer concentrate for aquarium plants. 

JBL Florapol consists of a clay which contains a large amount of iron in a form which does not dissolve in water and also include vital trace elements. This avoids unnecessarily high concentrations of iron in the water at the beginning, whilst also preventing the growth of unwanted algae. However, the plant roots are able to absorb iron at any time due to a special mechanism. With its particularly high absorption capacity, the clay, a natural ion exchanger, is able to bind nutrients. The absorbed nutrients are released when there is a lack of nutrients and absorbed when there is an excess supply, ensuring that the right amount of nutrients is always available to the plants.

The clay in JBL Florapol will absorb and release nutrients for a period of at least 3 years. After this time new clay material can be added in the form of JBL The 7 Balls to refresh the substrate.

Long-term nutrient substrate concentrate

When setting up a new aquarium, mix with the substrate and cover with a top layer of washed gravel/sand.
Contains all the essential plant nutrients such as iron and clay.
Acts as a nutrient depot, absorbing surplus nutrients or releasing them as required.  
Effective for minimum 3 years.   
Does not contain the algae nutrients phosphate and nitrate.
350g JBL Florapol are sufficient for Aquaria from 50 - 80cm tank.
