Xinyou XY-2880 Biological Sponge Filter – Multi-Stage Biochemical Filtration with Ceramic Media
Upgrade your aquarium filtration with the Xinyou XY-2880 Biological Sponge Filter. Unlike standard sponge filters, this advanced model features a dual-stage filtration system that combines a high-quality biochemical sponge with a dedicated chamber of ceramic pearl media.
Designed for efficiency and safety, the XY-2880 provides massive surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize, ensuring stable water parameters by breaking down harmful ammonia and nitrites. It is the ultimate choice for breeding tanks, shrimp habitats, Discus tanks, and planted aquariums where gentle flow and pristine water quality are essential.
Key Features & Benefits
Dual-Action Filtration:
Machanical: The specialized green environmental sponge traps fine debris and floating particles, clearing up cloudy water.
Biological: The lower canister is filled with ceramic pearl balls. This porous media provides an ideal home for nitrifying bacteria to remove harmful substances and increase oxygen levels.
Safe for Delicate Life: The gentle, non-suction flow is 100% safe for baby fish (fry), shrimp, and slow-moving species like Bettas and Discus. It prevents small livestock from getting sucked into the filter.
Increases Oxygen: Operates using an air pump (sold separately), which creates bubbles that agitate the water surface, significantly increasing dissolved oxygen content for your fish.
Patented Design: Features a unique, patented structure (Patent No: ZL201730614278.2) that maximizes water contact with filter media for superior efficiency.
Easy Maintenance: The modular design allows you to easily detach the sponge and media container for quick rinsing during water changes.
Secure Mounting: Equipped with strong suction cups to firmly attach the unit to the glass wall of your aquarium.
